Each timepiece is created individually, and as with the iconic Bamboo bag handles, each piece of bamboo is shaped and carved by hand before becoming a key element in this latest Gucci Timepieces creation. Bamboo: A Gucci Icon Bamboo is one of Gucci’s most iconic motifs; it was developed during the Second World War when materials were scarce, proving to be an innovative, appealing and practical alternative. Bamboo cane has been used consistently at the Florentine House since this time, worked into an array of chic and covetable items, from handbags to timepieces, becoming an instantly recognizable symbol of the House. Italian Fashion, Swiss Precision This exclusive collection for women has a round case and is available in three variants: with a black, brown or silver sun-brushed dial. Bamboo is inlaid around the bezel and is also used on the bangle, which also includes the Gucci Horsebit motif on the clasp and bangle links. The dial of the new Bamboo timepiece displays the ‘Gucci’ logo at 12 o’clock and the ‘Swiss Made’ stamp at six o’clock.
