Editorial Review Gucci Interlocking Collection The Interlocking Timepiece Collection features one of the most notable icons of the Gucci House: the interlocked double “G”, representing the initials of the House founder, Guccio Gucci. Designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini, the collection is available for men and women, and in a variety of materials and versions but all feature one of the most recognizable Gucci icons: the interlocking double “G” symbol, first used in the early Sixties. A Milestone Timepiece In the Sixties, the Gucci House had reached international fame, treasured by some of the most notable personalities of the time. It is around this time that the legendary interlocking double “G” logo appears, used for bags, small leather goods, luggage and the first pieces of clothing. After embellishing handbags, scarves, belts, jewelry, and more, this distinguished Gucci icon can now be admired as a Gucci timepiece, in a variety of materials and versions. The case of the watch is a natural setting for the double “G” icon, opening the way to innumerable variants. The Interlocking Timepiece Collection adds an important milestone to the history of Gucci Timepieces. Models and Variants Available in a larger 37mm model or a smaller 29mm, the Interlocking Timepiece displays a GG case worked in stainless steel, black or brown PVD, teamed with matching dials in sun-brushed silver, brown or black. Precious variants see the GG motif fully or partially enriched with diamonds and accompanied by a black lacquered dial, or alternatively, worked in 18kt pink gold. Dials are kept minimalist, displaying slim, tapered hands, the ‘Gucci’ logo at 12 o’clock and the ‘Swiss Made’ guarantee at 6 o’clock. A variety of straps are available from a metal bracelet to brown or black calfskin, as well as white, brown or black crocodile.
