Editorial ReviewThe multi-eye power reserve watch is one of the sportiest watches that Orient offers. Its sport-forward design corresponds well with the rest of the watch’s mechanical motif. The watch itself gives sports watches a new ideal due to its artistic attributes. This watch is an automatic watch that is powered through the spring of the watch. When the watch is stationary, it will consume its power. Starting off with the dial, you will notice that there are many features that make this watch exceptional. From the side of the watch, you will see the ridged lining of the dial that looks almost like a bezel. This, along with the link right above and below the dial, adds texture and a more complex design to the watch. The features of this collection include the carbon-fiber dial and racing colors that mark the bold look to this watch. Each watch comes with a PU coating that allows for that extra black tone. This attribute gives a noticeable shine and an attractive look. The watch also comes with two sub-dials located on the 9 o’clock and 6 o’clock positions. The 6 o’clock sub-dial identifies the seconds, while the 9 o’clock sub-dial identifies the day of the month. You will notice that the watch does not have any numerals to specify the hour. Instead, the watch comes with bold dots alongside the edges of the dial. These dots along with the hour and minute indicators are all luminescent. This allows for the owner to view the time during the evening. The exhibition caseback for this line of watches comes in sapphire crystal. Therefore, the owner is able to view the complication that is powering the watch. When viewing the exhibition caseback, you can also see the official Orient logo located on the rotor. When viewing the side of the watch, you can see that the crown is screwed down, which allows for water-resistance of depths up to 100 meters. Since this collection line is an automatic watch, the watch is powered by motion. To view the amount of energy that is stored in the watch, you can view the power reserve indicator located below the 12 o’clock position. A power reserve indicator specifies the amount of energy, in units of hours, that is stored in the springs of the automatic watches. When the watch is still, it will consume the stored power in the spring. Just like a gas gauge, you can expect to see the power reserve indicator to go upwards as you are wearing it and decrease if the watch is stationary. At full charge, Orient Watch will run 40 hours without motion. Because the automatic watches are powered by motion, the watch will naturally store energy as it is being worn. However, when left stationary, the watch will consume its energy source. There are a total of 3 different variations for this particular line. All three come with a stainless steel case. One variation is an all gunmetal black design with black sub-dials and amber indicators. The other two variations have a silver-black design on the case and bands. However, one variation comes with black sub-dials and lime-green indicators, while the other comes in white sub-dials and red indicators. The band and clasp for this watch are in stainless steel. The band is untapered and comes in finished metal. Like many other Orient watches, the clasp for this collection is a double-locking buckle, which allows for guaranteed security for the owner so that the watch does not unbuckle unintentionally.
